Despite loving basketball, since she was young, Alex Taylor struggled to find a safe space to play. From her high school team to the most exclusive gyms in the world, men treated her like a target rather than a teammate. Undeterred, she set out to create the space she always wanted and thus Hoop York City was born: a community by women for women who simply want to play the game they love free of fear or judgment.
